!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This car has been on the Market for probably the last 6 months. If I remember right, he was originally asking around $27K.

That definitely is cheap. I think the issue he's running into is that a buyer for this car is capable of, and willing to, spend more money for a lower mileage example.

I wouldn’t consider this as a DD at that mileage but dear lord this could be a nasty track car. Strip this out and add a roll cage for a seriously awesome car especially at that price. Hell there are similar mileage E46s that sell for slightly less than 21.5k

Or there is something wrong with it that he’s not saying

I agree, but the market for a track car is much smaller. The S65 is a stout engine and would probably be fine upwards of 200k if well maintained. That means a lot of time on the track. But to do so, a car with this many miles will need parts to be constantly replaced.

True. My Dad has been looking for a project car. Maybe I could talk him into it! Possibilities for the pricing: 1) He’s desperate (it says lien) 2.) there is a serious mechanical problem or its needs an expensive routine item like a clutch and flywheel.

It might be worth contacting the seller and asking those questions. From experience, some buyers won’t list stuff like that, but when asked directly, very few people will lie to you.

Someone’s going to be very happy with this car.

I could see this bargain as a Tavarish Car in the near future.

At this price, you could rebuild the engine, replace the clutch, and get some Recaros to replace the front seats and you still got a bargain for a hell of a machine ready to run hard and strong for another 100k+ miles.

If it has been well maintained, for less than 22K I can’t think of anything better.

It’s a Minnesota car, hence the lower price (market for a sports car is small). If it was winter driven, sure hope he took care of the undercarriage.

Are you joking? Sport car market certainly is not small in Minneapolis and St Paul. That has zero effect on the price.

After living in the area for 20 years, I feel somewhat qualified. Every car I have searched there has a $2-3K reduction in price over a west coast equivalent.

I’m calling bullshit seeing as I live here currently and have lived here for 20+. Prices are reasonably in line with what they are on a national level. If there is a difference at all, its is when you are searching on the enthusiast forums.

Guess my recent 4 month search for Caymans, Z3M, Z4M and S2000s on Autotrader/Craigslist/Dealers and subsequent purchase is not relevant.

I’d love to see the data.
